Here's a reminder that there are bigots in every religion.
I think it's important to remember that citizens of various countries don't always support their leaders' policies. Here's an interesting article about Iran.
This past weekend I had a wonderful time at a cabin on Shell Lake with the "Nieman-Williams-es-es" (as I like to call them), Judy, and two friends of the N-Ws. I enjoyed the great scenery (including an amazing number of stars that were visible away from the city), company, food and weather. We even had Sock Puppet Theatre, which would take a long time to explain!
Unfortunately, hatred and prejudice are still strong forces in the world.
I wish that a lot of religious leaders would get their heads out of their conservative asses and realize that in a world with so many problems, they should spend their time trying to alleviate suffering instead of declaring that God cares what people do in bed.
