"Because we all share this planet earth, we have to learn to live in harmony and peace with each other and with nature. This is not just a dream, but a necessity."

I forgot to mention that part of reason why I enjoyed the concert so much was that we were in the tenth row on the main floor.

Last night I went with friends to an incredible concert in Saskatoon: Annie Lennox (who sang for about an hour) and Sting (who sang for over 90 minutes, including a duet with Annie). Sting was very good, but Annie Lennox was AMAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAZING!!!!!

e.e. cummings said, "To be nobody-but-yourself - in a world which is doing its best, night and day, to make you everybody else - means to fight the hardest battle which any human being can fight; and never stop fighting."

Tonight I'm going with some friends to see Annie Lennox and Sting in concert. It should be great.

David and I went to Regina yesterday for a family gathering to celebrate my oldest sister Mary's 60th birthday. There was lots of hearty laughter, as there always is when my family gets together. Tonight we're going to our friend Judy's place for a Thanksgiving gathering and meal. I've been marking university assignments for most of the day, so I'm looking forward to some good food and relaxation!

Here's some Buddhist wisdom:

"If we have...presence of mind then whatever work we do will be the very tool which enables us to know right and wrong continually. There's plenty of time to meditate; we just don't fully understand the practice, that's all. While sleeping we breathe, eating we breathe, don't we? Why don't we have time to meditate? Wherever we are we breathe. If we think like this then our life has as much value as our breath; wherever we are we have time."

-Ajahn Chah, "Taste of Freedom"

When asked why he writes about criminals, instead of ordinary people, Elmore Leonard said, "I just feel more secure in a situation where I know a gun can go off at any time if things get boring."
