This morning at around 1:00, a short video that I made with my new webcam (given to me by CBC for being a top member of their "ZeD" website) was aired on a special, extra-long episode of the "ZeD" TV program. You can view it by going to my profile page on the ZeD website. Look for the video upload that includes "AIRED ON TV" in the title.

American writer Ring Lardner was noted for his ability to reproduce the speech patterns of baseball players and coaches. Some critics called his work satire, but he said, "[I don't know] where they get that stuff about me being a satirist... I just listen."

Gabriel Garcia Marquez (born in Colombia) was a struggling writer who was so broke that he had to sell his wife's hair dryer to pay for postage when he sent his novel "One Hundred Years of Solitude" to a publisher. It is now seen as one of the greatest novels of the 20th century, and he later won a Nobel Prize for Literature.

Here's something that you might want to try when you're angry at or frustrated with a person or people in general. Try saying to yourself, "I wish you happiness." when you look at the person or people. It sounds corny, but it reminds you that everyone wants and deserves happiness. This is a practice that I learned at a Tibetan Buddhist meditation retreat in Nepal many years ago. Sometimes I walk down the street and think, "I wish you happiness" about everyone I see. It never fails to improve my mood!

I'm #7 on the ZeD website now. Wow!

Fed Ex delivered a wonderful ZeD/CBC travel coffee mug this morning. It was to thank me for being one of the participants in the test session for technology that'll be used in the special "ZeD Uncut" live Internet and TV broadcast on March 5.

HAPPY LEAP YEAR! Having a day that exists only once every four years is like being in the Twilight Zone.
