Last night I wrote the following letter and sent it to "Canada Now - Saskatchewan" (CBC TV) and the Saskatoon Star Phoenix (newspaper):


I thought that dinosaurs were extinct. Then I read Canadian Alliance MP Larry Spencer's outdated and illogical ideas about homosexuality. Let's hope that all forms of intolerance end up as fossils in a museum.

I was disappointed to hear the results of a recent survey indicating that a majority of people in Saskatchewan do not support aboriginal treaty rights. That reminds me of how well Jim Pankiw--an embarrassment to our city, province and species--did in the civic election in Saskatoon.

What I learned from CBC Radio today:

In the Victorian era, it was considered too suggestive for Europeans and North Americans--especially women--to peel and eat a banana while holding it in your hand. Therefore, etiquette books recommended the use of silver fruit knives and forks.
