"It's difficult in times like these: ideals, dreams and cherished hopes rise within us, only to be crushed by grim reality. It's a wonder I haven't abandoned all my ideals, they seem so absurd and impractical. Yet I cling to them because I still believe, in spite of everything, that people are truly good at heart." - Anne Frank (born on June 12, 1929)

"We wish to learn all the curious, outlandish ways of all the different countries, so that we can "show off" and astonish people when we get home. All our passengers are paying strict attention to this thing, with the end in view which I have mentioned. The gentle reader will never, never know what a consummate ass he becomes, until he goes abroad." - Mark Twain, written on a five-month cruise to Europe and the Mediterranean
