Rehearsing "Fishing Buddies" and "Dancing Backwards" for the Fringe with fellow actor Damien H. Bartlett and director David Creelman reminds me of why I love doing theatre. The exciting, creative cooperation that happens when you have the right combination of people rehearsing a play is addictive.

So far we've had one rehearsal for "Fishing Buddies" and two for "Dancing Backwards". It's going well, and I'm very excited about our Fringe production. (We'll have five performances between August 1 and 10.) The other actor, Damien H. Bartlett, is very easy to work with. David's a great director, which also helps!

This afternoon we have the first rehearsal for our Saskatoon Fringe Festival production of "Dancing Backwards". I made some revisions to the script during and after the Saskatchewan Playwrights Centre's Spring Festival of New Plays and am very excited about our upcoming production.

The ESL conference in Swift Current was great. Two of the high points, in addition to the workshops, were the food and the opportunity I had to practise (what I can remember in) Indonesian with an ESL student who lives in Swift Current.
